Office Assistants
The Office Assistants serve as the receptionist for new students, parents, office staff and University departments. Office duties include:
• Answering phones
• Logistical support for office programs
• Central information center for Orientation & First-Year Programs
• Mailings of newsletters and invitations
• Typing
• Other Projects as assigned.
Time Commitment
• Coverage during the hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00
• Nationally recognized Holidays off without pay
• Minimum of 10 hours per week
• Not to exceed 20 hours per week (summers and breaks can be more)
• Additional hours possible during the month of August & January
Qualifications
• Interpersonal skills, computer basics, and knowledge of UNLV is desired.
• Must be positive, friendly, and have an outgoing customer service approach.
• Experience with professional phone etiquette.
• Ability to multi-task is necessary.
• Should have strong organization skills and initiative.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines is desired.
• Strong aptitude for retention of detailed information and accurate dispersal of
that information is important.
• Undergraduate GPA requirement 2.5.
• Graduate/Professional GPA requirement 3.0.
• Undergraduate enrollment requirement 6 credits/semester.
• Graduate/Professional enrollment requirement 5 credits/semester.
Compensation
• Starting salary is $7.00.
• Potential raises beginning of each semester.
