Services Provided
- Treatment of minor illness and injury;
- Male and female wellness exams including pap smears, and contraception evaluations;
- Immediate first aid and blood pressure checks;
- Fitness screening and exercise prescriptions;
- Screening tests for hearing and vision;
- Pregnancy testing;
- Acute management and referral for sexual assault;
- Early detection and referral for care of chronic illness for coordination of ongoing care;
- Evaluation, continuing treatment, or referral for initial allergy antigen testing;
- Onsite licensed lab offers a variety of tests with licensed practitioner's order;
- Standard prescription and nonprescription medications are available through our licensed pharmacy;
- Free health information and health education programs available upon request;
- Immunizations/vaccinations including:
- MMR
- Tetanus/Diphtheria
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis A/B
- Meningitis
- Influenza (free to students)
- Gardasil (HPV)
- Specialty services including:
- GYN
- Dermatology
- Sports Medicine
- Referrals will be provided by the SHC staff for conditions beyond the scope of our services.
Services Not Provided
- Any procedure requiring general anesthesia
- Any surgical procedure requiring more than a simple incision and
drainage biopsy, or closure of superficial lacerations
- Any acute injuries involving a major organ
- Evaluation of unconsciousness or otherwise altered consciousness
- Evaluation of child abuse
- Direct management of chronic illness
- Direct management of complicated medical illness or injuries requiring
specialist's care
- All other treatments for which the professional staff is not medically
qualified or for which the Student Health Center is not properly equipped
- Care of injuries sustained in automobile accidents
