Arizona Hot Springs Day Hike

Come join us on a tranquil six mile round trip hike to the Arizona Hot Springs. Take in some great sights along the Colorado River and unwind in the relaxing waters of the hot springs. The pools can range from 85 to 120 degrees; take your pick and forget about school for a bit. Does life get any better? We doubt it.

| Brian Head Ski/Snowboard Trip

Brian Head is the prime resort for all your winter needs. The powder will take you on an unforgettable ride through trees as you carve your way down the mountain. We encourage skiers and snowboarders at any level to take part in this adventure. There is no competition-just complete leisure.

Snowshoe Hike

Enjoy a brisk day of trudging through fresh deep snow in an alpine winter wonderland. Snowshoes are amazing because they allow you to walk across deep snowfields that without them you would inevitably sink through. This is your opportunity to learn what snowshoeing and winter hiking are all about. Wind down the day with a mug of hot chocolate and reflection.

| Gold Strike Hot Springs Scramble

Enjoy the best of both worlds as you climb and scramble thru rocky terrain to arrive at an oasis of hot springs. This hike allows you to challenge yourself with some stretches of rock face that will require you to depend on a rope to get up and down. It is an awesome way to get in shape for the spring and summer season. The hot springs consist of various pools with different intensities of heat. Bring a camera because you do not want to forget a thing.

Death Valley National Park Campout

Don't let the name fool you. Well actually...it can get pretty close to death in the summer months. Death Valley is the hottest, driest, and lowest park in the United States. This is why this trip is an excellent opportunity to explore some of the stone wilderness and sand dunes too hot to touch during some parts of the year. Saturday we will hike and explore the valley and spend the night in front of the campfire. Sunday we will do short hikes exploring sand dunes and natural bridges.

Black Canyon Canoe

Imagine the thrill of canoeing the beautiful Colorado River in confidence, comfort and safety. Take in the amazing canyon cliffs of Black Canyon as UNLV Outdoor Adventure trip leaders guide you just south of the Hoover Dam. During the adventure, various stops at side canyons will be made for you to explore. Learn the essentials of canoe paddling as well as wilderness camping techniques while traveling to Arizona Hot Springs and Gold Strike Hot Springs. The trip will require participants to canoe an average of 8 miles per day with half of those miles going up-river. Grab a paddle, let's GO!

Wildflower Day Hike

Grand Canyon Campout

Whitewater Rafting

May 18-22
Pre trip meeting and sign up deadline: May 14 at 2:00pm or 7:00 pm
Ride a water roller coaster, and have the biggest rush of your life! Take your first rafting trip; learn all of the basics of rafting, and how to maneuver a raft down the river, around rocks, and down class 3 rapids. See new sites, animals and plants. Watch the scenery change throughout the day as you go down the river. Work together with the people in your raft, have a good time and get a workout. Sounds like the way to do it. Then at the end of the day go back to camp for a hearty meal and SMORES.
Get ready to learn. This trip is offered in conjunction with San Juan State College and is offered for credit through their university. By the end of the class, you will be expected to demonstrate the skills necessary to guide a raft down class 2 and 3 rapids. You will also be expected to participate in all of the camp and cooking details.
Price includes: Trip leaders, instruction, group equipment, 3 days of rafting, transferable class credit, and all food during the course. Food during travel days will not be included. |
