Sanction Information
Depending on the seriousness of the violation, sanctions may be imposed by the Hearing Officer, Hearing Panel or Committee, Office of Student Conduct Officer, or Vice President for Student Life in any order or combination (6.9 UCCSN Code)
In addition to the formal sanctions outlined below and depending on the circumstances, a student may be required to perform community restitution service, to seek counseling or other specialized support, or be required to participate in an activity or program whose purpose is to redirect behavior. Failure to comply with any such requirements will constitute a violation of the Student Conduct Code.
Formal Sanctions:
- Warning notice presented orally or written where any continued or repeated violations of University policies or regulations may be cause for further disciplinary action.
- Restriction, Loss of Privileges and Exclusion from Activities including but not limited to extracurricular activities, holding office, removal from a University living environment or from the use of specific University facilities, or denial of the use of a vehicle on campus.
- Restitution in the form of monetary payment or appropriate services to repair or compensate the owner for a loss due to defacement, damage, fraud, theft, or misappropriation of property.
- Disciplinary Probation where terms will be determined at the time the probation is imposed but may include exclusion from participation in privileges or extracurricular activities.
NOTE: A student on probation is not in disciplinary good standing with the University.
- Suspension is the temporary separation of the student from the University for a specified period of time and/or until specific conditions, if imposed, has been met. NOTE: A suspended student may not participate in any University-sponsored activity and shall be barred from all University campuses and properties.
- Expulsion or Termination is the permanent separation of the student from the University and the student shall not participate in any University-sponsored activity and shall be barred from all UCCSN campuses and properties.
- Parent/Guardian Notification of Drug and Alcohol-Related Violations where the University may notify the parents or legal guardians of any student under 21 years of age who is found responsible for violating the alcohol or drug and narcotic policy.
- Required Educational/Restitution Activities is mandatory participation in educational activities or programs of community restitution service on campus or in the community as approved.
- Administrative Judicial Hold where a student status is documented in the registrar’s official file that precludes the student from registering for classes and/or accessing official transcripts until clearance from the Office of Student Conduct or the Vice President for Student Life.
