Have a classroom conflict or disruptive situation?
The Office of Student Conduct exists to assist the campus community in addressing conflicts or alleged violations of the UNLV Student Conduct Code and Policies. The resources available through The Office of Student Conduct can help you with a myriad of student behaviors, including but not limited to:
• Academic Dishonesty
• Disruptive / threatening behavior
• Alcohol / Controlled substance issues
• Harassment, including Sexual Harassment
• Destruction / misuse of property, and
• Any act that is in violation of federal, state or local law.

What is the Student Conduct Code and to whom does it apply?
The Code outlines provisions designed to address the conduct of students who impair or infringe on the rights of others or interfere with the orderly operations of the University. The Code addresses misconduct that takes place on University premises, in addition to off campus conduct to the extent that it has impacted or is likely to impact the University. The Code applies to University sponsored events, trips, and similar activities. The Code applies to all students and student organizations at UNLV.

How do I access the Code?

How do I file a complaint?
Complaints alleging a violation of the Code may be filed with the office of student conduct, and should meet the following criteria:
• The complaint must be in writing (or electronic mail) and should be dated
• It must be clear that the complaint was filed by the complainant
• To the extent possible, the date, time, place, name of the person(s) involved, and the circumstances of the alleged violation should be specified
• The name of any person(s) who may have witnessed the alleged prohibited conduct should be listed as well.
If necessary, follow-up documentation may be requested before a complaint is acted upon. If you are not sure of a situation, feel free to call and ask questions!

Why should I get involved?
Each member of the University shares the responsibility to support an environment conducive to the achievement of the University’s purpose. To maintain a system of effective campus management, each member of the campus community is strongly encouraged to notify the Office of Student Conduct of any Code violation and to assist in its enforcement.

Classroom or Department Presentations
The Office of Student Conduct offers presentations around conflict resolution and student rights and responsibilities on an ongoing basis. Please click here for a complete list of presentations available (link to Presentations Page).  You may submit a request for a presentation online or download the form and email it to OfficeofStudentConduct@unlv.edu, fax it to (702) 895-2514. You may also hand deliver or interoffice mail the form to our office in FDH 365

Involvement opportunities
The Office of Student Conduct offers training for any campus member who would like to serve on Conduct Hearing Panels or facilitate mediations. Also, committees are now forming to address campus-wide academic integrity initiatives and alcohol education programs.
