Passport and Visa Information for Students

The I-20 or DS-2019 is issued upon your admission to UNLV. Once you receive it, you must use it to apply for your student visa at the nearest U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate General's Office in your home country.

To apply for your student visa you need the following:

  • An admission letter from UNLV;
  • A valid I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) or DS-2019 from UNLV;
  • A valid passport from your native country; and
  • Financial support documents.
  • Check the state department's website for additional information
