OISS SERVICES FOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS

The Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) provides professional support services to the UNLV community and their international scholars. OISS provides assistance and advice regarding employment, visa, travel, and immigration issues. OISS also helps facilitate international scholars’ transition to the U.S. and campus community.

Any person who IS NOT a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S. is required by federal law to seek employment authorization from U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services before commencing employment in the U.S.

The Quick Guide to Hiring International Faculty/Staff/Scholars may be helpful in determining the appropriate visa, but contact OISS before completing any department request forms.
